Meal plans kinda make us dumber:

"Just eat what's on the plan! Follow the plan and you'll be successful."

It kinda reminds me of when I was a first year teacher and taught my kindergartners strict rules to follow for math but didn't teach problem solving skills. Oh yeah. Those.
